Missionaries | Matt & Amanda Hadden
Matt and Amanda Hadden and their children serve the Oglala Lakota Tribe on the Pine Ridge Reservation through Čhankú Wašté (ch-ahn-koo wash-tay) Ranch, a Send Relief ministry center that reaches the community through children’s camps, construction projects, and a wellness center.
Focusing up close on the needs of neighbors looks like meeting physical and emotional needs. Matt says that meeting needs means being present in hard times, not just the easy times, and not shying away from deep conversations. It looks like repairing cars, getting groceries, watching children, giving rides, having phone conversations, and praying with one another. Relationships take time. As their relationships grow, it gives them a platform to share the gospel.
5 Fun Facts about the Missionaries
Matt Hadden was a Royal Ambassador (RA) when he was a child. He has wonderful memories of that time.
Every summer the Haddens and many volunteers host eight weeks of day camp for children, preschool through high school.
Mr. Hadden enjoys welding.
Amanda Hadden enjoys singing.
Because the Lakota people do not have a word for goodbye in their language, the Haddens had to get used to the Lakota people not saying goodbye when they were talking on the phone.
